Job Description

As a Quality & Safety Manager at Winco Stamping, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards while maintaining a safe work environment. You will oversee quality management systems, conduct root cause analysis for quality issues, and develop and implement safety policies and procedures. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers to integrate quality and safety practices into daily operations, driving continuous improvement and innovation. Specifications

Quality Management

  1. Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, industrial technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Master’s degree, Six Sigma certification) may be preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management or a related role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in metal stamping or a similar industry.
    • Demonstrated experience with ISO standards and quality management systems.
  2. Quality Management Skills:
    • Strong understanding of quality control principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, statistical process control).
    • Proven track record of implementing and managing quality improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
    • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and risk management.
  3. Leadership and Communication:
    • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to lead and motivate a team.
    • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to communicate quality objectives, standards, and expectations to team members and stakeholders.
    • Experience in coaching, training, and developing team members to ensure a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  4. Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex quality-related issues and develop effective solutions.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to drive decision-making and process improvements.
  5. Regulatory Compliance and Auditing:
    • Familiarity with regulations, standards and industry-specific certifications applicable to the manufacturing industry.
    • Experience in conducting internal audits and coordinating external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
  6. Computer Proficiency:
    • Proficiency using quality management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) for data analysis, reporting, and documentation purposes.
  7. Continuous Improvement Mindset:
    • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development to stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in quality management.
  8. Team Player and Collaborator:
    • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with cross-functional teams to drive quality initiatives and achieve organizational goals.

Safety Management

  1. Education and Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
    • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards pertaining to workplace safety, including but not limited to hazard communication, machine guarding, personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency response procedures.
  2. Safety Program Development and Implementation:
    • Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs and policies to promote a safe work environment.
    • Proven ability to conduct safety assessments, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and prevent accidents/incidents.
  3. Training and Education:
    • Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs for employees at all levels to increase awareness and compliance with safety protocols.
    • Ability to assess training needs, develop training materials, and conduct training sessions on topics such as hazard recognition, ergonomic safety, and emergency procedures.
  4. Safety Compliance and Auditing:
    • Familiarity with conducting safety audits and inspections to assess compliance with safety regulations and identify areas for improvement.
    • Experience in maintaining safety records, incident reports, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  5. Incident Investigation and Analysis:
    • Proficiency in conducting thorough investigations of workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop preventive measures.
    • Ability to analyze incident data and trends to identify recurring safety issues and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  6. Emergency Preparedness and Response:
    • Knowledge of emergency response procedures and protocols, including evacuation plans, first aid/CPR training, and coordination with external emergency services.
    • Experience in leading emergency response drills and exercises to ensure readiness and effectiveness in handling potential emergencies.
  7. Communication and Collaboration:
    • Effective communication skills to communicate safety policies, procedures, and expectations to employees, management, and external stakeholders.
    • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and HR, to integrate safety initiatives into daily operations and decision-making processes.
